Setting the Refined Measurement as Baseline
To find architectural issues in the refined measurement, it needs to be set as a baseline. The baseline serves as the reference point against which all future measurements will be compared - any architectural drift or resolved debt will be evaluated relative to this baseline.
Steps to Set the Baseline
Hover over the measurement name on the top left side (under the application name). Click on the pencil icon and rename the measurement to “Baseline 1” (or a descriptive name of your choice). Click on UPDATE
Your measurement should now display the updated name in the top left corner.
Hover over the measurement name on the top left side again. Click on SET AS BASELINE
Your measurement is now set as the baseline. The Home icon next to the measurement name confirms this.
Why Baseline? Setting the baseline is a prerequisite for detecting architectural drifts and generating TODO items. Without a baseline, vFunction cannot compare measurements to identify regressions or improvements.
